Duplicate the basic level you created earlier, and create a few different versions. In each, try experimenting with the various sculpting tools to create land formations. Pay attention to your landmasses, and make sure they aren't becoming unrealistic. When in doubt, consult your references.

When I put my sky dome it cuts the sunlight is dull and cuts the light and shadows!

When I do my mountain it doesn’t let a very high one stay with the top flat!

usually you would need to make an extremely large mountain/altitude for that to happen. Could you send a screenshot, it might help me understand the issue
Cheers
Joe

When I move my camera a surplus appears on the ground, as if I hear something big covering it.

Does your Skydome have Cast Shadows enabled? Make sure to disable it to remove the shadow.

When I play, there is no option to walk in the first person.

Hi, you need to set your Game mode to FirstPersonGamemode in World Settings.

Joe I tried importing your Brushify packs into the new UE4 4.46 and it wasn't compatible. Any ETA when these assets may work?
Joe Garth 2 years ago instructor
Hi, the assets are already compatible with 4.26. Restart your launcher!

Every time I try to take a Highres shot, UE4 crashes lol
Mark Johnson 2 years ago
oh i can take 8k shots just fine, but 16k crashes both my pc and another I've tried on. I managed to get it to work on someone else's PC but theirs has much better specs than mine.

When I create a grass layer, the procedural grass doesn't show up. So far I've got just a textured landscape plane, with no grass blades or flowers. What am I doing wrong?

Is modes different now in the latest version? I can’t search and find things via modes like Joe does in the video
Joe Garth 2 years ago instructor
Hi, they just moved it to the Top bar, it's a Tab now. It works exactly the same though.

How can I find the post processing since my modes looks and works differently than this version? Does the new version of ue4 do this automatically now?

You just need the Place Actors window. Just go to windows > Place Actors :)

Great course! This is fun. But it seems when I make a landscape in a higher resolution such as 2041x2041 layer textures like Forest and Grass appear much smaller and are flat, like a photograph mapped to the landscape. At lower resolutions everything appears normal. What am I doing wrong?
Joe Garth 2 years ago instructor
Sounds like you may need to adjust the landscape tiling. Go to your landscape material MI_Landscape and you can find Global, Macro and Detail tiling settings.

Hello Joe,
Great Course! Really enjoying UE4 and its insane power. Also the way you are teaching is very structured and understandable. I just have a question about migrating landscape biome brushes from one project to another. I have created custom landscape material brushes using your insane node tree. Now I want to import these materials and textures into another project and replace the MI_Landscape in another project with my custom additions. How would I go about doing this? I tried migrating the content, but it doesn't update this node tree.

The road pebbles texture appears very stretched is anyone else having this problem? Should it be adjusted in the tiling parameters?

Same issue.

To fix the missing road or the road mesh fragment only appearing under the spline nodes - In 4.25, under Landscape Spline Meshes, the Spline Meshes array defaults to empty. You'll need to add at least one element here for the S_RoadPlane_Mainroad_Line mesh to work with. Specific instructions can be found here:

When you are sculpting how do you turn off the yellow landscape selection outline. I noticed in the demonstration it does not have it on.
Another question i have when i am zooming in there is a shadow over the bottom part of the screen the closer I get. Any ideas how to fix this? The shadow moves as if the camera is casting the shadow its very strange behavior.
