Animation
Lesson 4 of 5 Mastering Film UI
Now that you've designed your main and supporting interfaces, it's time to bring them to life. In this lesson, you will start animating and adding basic complexity to your design.
- After Effects Practice Homework- Create a practice animation in After Effects. You can use what you created in the Illustrator Practice Homework earlier for this assignment, or create something new to work with. - Remember: This animation should not be related to the project you plan to work on in the course. Instead, let this assignment be a chance for you to get used to the various tools and techniques of After Effects without any pressure. - Advanced students who are already familiar with After Effects can skip this homework if they prefer, though we still recommend spending some time here to warm up!
- Primary Element Initial Animation Homework- Bring your Illustrator designs into After Effects, and begin animating the larger forms. For this assignment, focus on the primary shapes of your design, which will help to drive the rest of the shapes going forward.
- Adding Detail Elements Homework- Now it's time to work on some smaller details. This stage will differ for everyone's designs, but you may want to think about checking your animation when placed inside one of the plates, modifying color, adding simple effects, and generally giving attention to the more intricate moving parts.
