Final Keyframes
Lesson 3 of 3 Dynamic Concept Art II
In this final lesson, you will take your rendered keyframes into Photoshop, utilizing the advanced design and composition fundamentals of the previous two lessons to create fully polished paintovers. Louis will show how to source and utilize photobash elements, control value, add post-processing and more. He will also demonstrate how to achieve various levels of finish when creating paintovers, giving you maximum flexibility in situations where clients need a fast turnaround. At the end of this lesson, you will have an entire set of hero keyframes, supporting paintovers and black and white studies.
- Plan of Attack- Bring all of your renders into Photoshop and draw out notes for each image to plan where you need to improve the design, texture. lighting or composition. Once you have a plan, begin collecting any photobash elements you think you'll need for your imagery.
- Worth a Thousand Words- Create your project's hero keyframe. This should be a single image that captures the essence of your world. Because this painting will likely take you the most time to complete, be sure to stay organized! Upload your finished hero keyframe to the Learn Squared homework gallery.
- Understanding Value- Turn some of your renders into black and white paintovers. For extra credit, you can do this step for all of your renders, even the ones you want to do in color later. Upload your work to the Learn Squared homework gallery.
- Splash of Color- Make full color paintovers for all of your remaining renders, or any black and white paintovers that you'd like to upgrade to color. Upload these finished paintings to the Learn Squared homework gallery.
