Final 3D Space
Lesson 4 of 5 Interior Concept Design
In this lesson you will make changes and add details to your 3D space. This includes adding materials, props, and any other elements required to make the scene feel like a real, usable space.
Client Feedback Simulation Homework
This homework will help you to respond to feedback on your project. You can do this either by asking an art friend of colleague for feedback on your presentation, or you can choose two changes from the following list to implement in your image:
• Take 0.5m - 1m out of your maximum ceiling height
• Remove 1.5m from 2 sides of your space (3m total)
• Add a new storytelling element into your design that wasn’t in the brief
Once you have received your feedback or chosen changes from the list above, implement whatever updates are necessary in your space.
Materials Homework
Assign materials to everything in your 3D space. The materials themselves don’t need to be perfect yet, as there will be time for refinement later in the lesson once everything is in place. Feel free to collect specific material references where needed as well.
Details and Set Dressing Homework
Add detail and set dressing elements to all areas of your scene. You can work on one area at a time like Nick did earlier, or you can jump around to add detail wherever needed. Remember to plan the areas of importance so you can know which areas need more detail and which areas don’t need much at all. Most of all, keep in mind how real people would be using the space you’ve created, and let that guide your decisions.
Keep in mind that not every single detail needs to be added in 3D. If something would be more efficient to add in Photoshop, you can paint in or photobash that element during the next lesson.
