A deep study of textures and materials.
STONE MATERIAL x BRONZE MATERIAL
I loved something zaoeyo said in one of the lessons, he said something like "I am sure we can squeeze some styleframes out of this". That totally changed the way of how I see things, it blew my mind. So I decided to take advantage of the models and to humbly try and make a full styleframe set.
DOORS AT ZION
Texturing is not my strong suit, which is why I wanted a challenge instead of doing a simple one. While watching Matrix Reloaded, I loved the red door texture in Zion. I started with the stone texture we did earlier to develop the final look. TIP: The gradient Node is awesome, although it kept making my texture grayscale for some reason until I had a facepalm moment and I remembered the Gradient Map in Photoshop.
EXTENDED STUDY: ZIONS DOOR IDENTIFICATION
It was a great opportunity to go all the way and design the texture for the door number seen in the movie as well. This time I started from scratch by making two materials which I mixed together to get a dull rocky look but it wasn't getting there yet. It needed some bronze/metal ish look, I wanted it to seem as if a hundred years had passed and all kind of residue was collected on it. Zaoeyo had said earlier that when making a material, it's a great way to save it for later as a starter, I had forgotten that. So I mixed the final material with the bronze texture from earlier for the final look.

Thanks Zaoeyo! :) Can't wait to conclude chapter 2. Btw, I came into this class absolutely sucking at styleframes. (And i am still in chapter 2!). You somehow even demystified octane for me! :)
