Initial shading + First color approaches

A very fun and rewarding experience, I added the shading, adjusted a few things and tried some color palettes.
There's more adjusting to be done in the next assignment.

Homework: Assignment

Make 10 material studies, and then elaborate on the sketches from last homework

I did some material studies from a photo I took in my house with objects of different materials (I think I counted seven).
Then I used references to study 15 more materials which I made into cylinders. I don't know if this was the intended study to be done, but I always wanted to do some of these.
I also did some value practice using photo reference of faces, to further understand lighting. These are included in the 'process' section.
I still have a long way to go, so I'll keep at it after finishing this course.
After that, I polished my 3 characters a bit, and when I was done I did some quick color passes using gradient maps.

Homework: Extra Credit

Extra credit: Repeat the process with two additional characters

These were a lot of fun to do. I tried to keep the designs varied and challenging -in materials and anatomy especially.

Homework: Process

Here's a few value studies with faces I done in the week, when I didn't have enough time to sit and work on the characters.
There are also the characters with dark background (not the bard, I forgot to export that one in gray, but I swear I tested it)
